Indian Market Tour – Full day tour

This is a tour into the high Zempoaltepetl mountains, where both Sierra Madres cross within Mixe Indian territory.
Mixes are among the 14 living Indian nations of Oaxaca and have retained their own language, style of dress and rich traditions. People are soft spoken, generous but yet un-westernized and shy with outsiders; they claim that they were never conquered and have been self-sustaining for the past 8 millennia! World famous for their Chili peppers endemic to that region, their children’s brass bands and the beautiful textiles they wear.

We will attend a real “Indian market”, totally away from tourist traffic. We will walk thru the community, visit workshops, a brass band rehearsal and connect with the people.

A great lunch is included during the tour.
