Hierve el Agua & Mitla – Full day tour
This is a tour that mixes a unique petrified water fall with option to hike & swim and a top archaeological site. First drive to San Isidro Roaguia nestled into the high Sierra Madre to visit the amazing petrified water falls of Hierve el Agua. The visit includes time to take a short or medium hike & swim in ancestral pools. Then visit the archaeological site of Mitla. This ancient city was built in the Mesoamerican post classic era and was active in the age of Columbus. Different to Monte Alban which has stone stelae writing, Mitla has murals with Mixtec narratives and an elegant architectural accomplishment.
Allow your expert guide to present to you a detailed historic overview of this rich cultural mix of the history of Oaxaca.
A stop for lunch can be made during the day but lunch is not included on this tour.
