GUADALAJARA

Guadalajara. It is the name of the capital of the state of Jalisco, located in the western center of Mexico. The word is of Arabic origin, Wad-al-Hidjara غوادالاخارا. Phonetics (ua-dal-giyara). which means: Rio de Priedras, River that runs between stones or Valley of Strengths. The founder of this city was born in the original Guadalajara found in Spain.

This town was founded four times, the first in 1530 and the last and permanent on February 14, 1542.

In all its time of existence, many historical events have occurred, the most important for our freedom is that the priest Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla on December 6, 1810 abolished slavery in the Government Palace.

Guadalajara it is known mainly because the symbols of Mexico, for what it is known in the world are of Jalisco origin such as: La Cerrería, Mariachi, and Tequila.

Guadalajara’s economy is one of the most important in the country.
