El Tajín & Papantla

Discover an orchid plant & flower cultivated on America for centuries to get the vanilla flavor in this charming town named after. It´s well known that the Totonaca culture developed an important city named Tajin, where we´ll enter the archaeological city and find out the famous calendar pyramid. Besides the main pyramid, enjoy the walk to different constructions in the complex where, every spring equinox, thousands of people congregate to welcome the “New Sun”. Experience one more city listed as one of Mexico’s 35 UNESCO World Heritage Sites from 1992.

Tours Highlights:

Firstly we enjoy a stop at Antigua (the old one) where Spanish soldier Hernan Cortes started the journey to the inland of Mexico is order to meet the Aztec Emperor Moctezuma. After great views of the ocean side, spent the day at “El Tajin” to discover the calendar pyramid among other important buildings. After descriptions of buildings & local history, we drive to Papantla downtown & visit a Vanilla factory, to know more about this exotic orchid, from pre-Columbian times to present day. Tour works with a minimum of 2 people. Discount for groups over 6 people.
