Selene Guide in Bacalar – Mahahual
I am passionate about sharing everything I know about the wonderful places in the Great South of Quintana Roo with you.
I am Selen Fernández, a certified federal tour guide and the founder of Sentir Maya. I design one-day tours for small or private groups seeking a true immersion, intertwining experiences that go far beyond conventional tourism: Archaeology & Oral Tradition: We will walk together among temples that the jungle has protected for centuries, such as Ichkabal, Calakmul, Dzibanché, Kinichná, Kohunlich, Chacchoben, and Oxtankah. As we explore, I will share living legends and oral traditions you won’t find in any book.
Nature & Adventure: You will awaken your exploratory instinct by swimming in the crystalline waters of the Blue Cenote or the Lagoon of Seven Colors. Additionally, amidst the vegetation surrounding these ancient civilizations, I will show you the medicinal plants used by the Maya, helping you reconnect with your true essence.
Gastronomy & Local Culture: We will visit authentic local restaurants where Maya women proudly prepare traditional recipes that hold the true history and flavor of our land, making you feel like a genuine guest of the community.
From the Bay of Chetumal, through the magic of the Bacalar Lagoon, to the charm of the Caribbean Sea in Mahahual, my desire is that you don’t just see the Great South of Quintana Roo, but that you truly feel it.
I want every landscape, story, and encounter to stay with you long after you return home.
With me, you don’t just travel: you experience the authentic.
