PUNTA LAGUNA

With pleasure we invite you to this experience which is an activity for the whole family, Punta Laguna It is a place in the middle of the jungle about two hours away from Cancun or the Riviera Maya. The place is a natural area of Low Rainforest which is a protected natural reserve and habitat for two species of monkeys; the spider and the howler monkeys or “zaraguatos”.

The site is protected by a population descendant of the Mayans, who around the 1940s came to work in this area at the time of the production of chewing gum, (Chicle), Over the years this population grew and took root in the area, today they became the guardians who preserve this natural habitat with a diversity of fauna such as birds, crocodiles, different mammals and of course monkeys.

At present time the area is open to the public and they offer different activities such as walking in the jungle to observe the monkeys in their natural habitat, canoeing to the other side of the lagoon to reach the zip line, as well a dip in mystical cenote where you descend by rappel and rise to the surface by climbing a rope ladder.

It is very important to understand that the area is guarded by the same Mayan population and it is not a private theme park as there are many. This experience is real, the community has all the safety equipment, in addition to the maintenance knowledge required for these activities.
